The Lord not only looks, but he also watches. The Bible tells us that “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). When you look, you simply direct your eyes toward an object. On the other hand, to watch means to focus one’s attention, to keep under careful observation, to stand or guard over.
