I am sure you would agree that history has recorded many a-great-day. Some good, some bad, and some ugly. My friends, I am here to tell you that there is a greater day coming!
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
Joel 2:1
The Book of Joel describes it as the Day of the Lord, and it has already been appointed.
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Acts 17:31
Things will not continue as they are. A great day is coming! The Lord will have his day.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1 Thess 5:2
The scripture says we know it perfectly. All the denying, dismissing, rejecting, and avoiding the issue will not change one thing. We may put up a good front but need not be deceived. The Bible tells us through the Word just how it will come to pass.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2 Thess 2:3
The Bible informs us that there will be a falling away before that great day comes. Now, the first thing that may come to mind when we consider that scripture is the epidemic that caused many churches to be shut down. That is what some of us contribute to the falling away. But the fact is, many of us may have already fallen away before the epidemic. We can sit in the church building and fall away from the Word of God, the truth. Just look around and turn on the television; it happens daily. You see, we look at the natural. A falling away is the first sign. Then, the son of perdition, the antichrist, will appear before that great day—opposing and exalting himself above all the is called God or worshipped.
So many great days have come and gone.
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Romans 14:5
But there is a great day coming, and that day will be without fault before the throne of God.
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads
Revelation 14:1
What we have just read in that verse about man and his salvation does not get any better. Some may say, “So what’s so great about that day?” After centuries of falling in the valley of despair, the church, the Bride of Christ, has reached Mount Zion. Some will say they have been there before: Moses, Abraham, even Peter, James, and John on the mount of Transfiguration. But this great day will be different because everyone, except for Jesus, had to come down from the mountaintop. But not so on that great day. They are going to stay there with the Lamb of God. What is different this time? These will have the Father’s name written in their foreheads.
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
Revelation 14:4
A great day is coming!
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
Revelation 7:4-10
A great day is coming, and the great day starts right now!
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
2 Corinthians 6:2
